Here at East Fremantle Pool Supplies we recommend the WATERCO Micron S602 using the Glass Pearl filtration media for most applications in the domestic market.

 

Waterco's high quality Micron Media ECO Filter range operates on the basis of “Depth Filtration”, but is equipped with the latest “Fish Tail” Laterals that offer better water flow distribution through the filter bed, improved hydraulic efficiency, filtration & backwashing. Leading to significant water savings through effective backwashing at low velocities, even at half the flow rate of traditional high rate filters.

 

The Micron media ECO filters are manufactured with an inner shell of fibreglass reinforced polyester resin that is strengthened with multiply layers of continuous strands of fibreglass filaments.

 

The Micron media ECO filters features Waterco’s new innovative water saving lateral system, which provides effective coverage of the filter bed and enables improved hydraulic efficiency and backwashing.

Note: Further opportunity to enhance end-user benefits with reduced filter maintenance & waters savings is to recommend the installation of a Waterco Multicycle. The Multicycle will collect up to 80% of incoming sediment before it reaches the filter media and with only 20% of the dirt load reaching the filter media, therefore reducing backwashing frequency.

 

Micron Media ECO Features & Benefits:

 

Micron media ECO Filter has been specifically designed with Fish Tail laterals that are normally only fitted in commercial sized swimming pool filtration systems. Waterco has equipped its Micron ECO filters with “Fish Tail” laterals, to improve its filtration and backwashing hydraulic efficiency.

 

The effective coverage of the Fish Tail lateral system virtually eliminates any dead areas of water flow and provides a balanced up flow of water, during backwashing.

 

As a result, the Micron ECO’s backwash time is significantly, leading to a 30% savings of backwash water.

 

Energy Saving “Fish Tail” laterals:

 

The even flow produced by the lateral system facilitates the possibility of backwashing the filter with half the backwash flow rate of a conventional sand filter, allowing the option of a lower powered pump for the filtration flow and backwash flow.

 

Conventional sand filters are often sized with a pump for its filtration and backwashing requirements. A Micron ECO can generally be equipped with a smaller pump* producing a slower flow rate for its filtration and backwashing requirements, that can potentially result in a 20% savings in energy use.

 

*Note: Each swimming pool has its own individual water flow characteristics and pump requirements.

 

Improved Water Clarity:

 

Lowering a filter’s flow rate not only significantly decreases the pump’s energy requirements, but also reduces water flow resistance in your pool equipment and plumbing. Even though you may need to operate the pump longer, it is far more efficient pumping low water flow compared to high water flow.

 

A lower flow rate also has the added benefit of enhancing your pool’s filtration efficiency, greatly improving the clarity of your swimming pool water.
